- In PowerPoint 2013, go to the File Tab. Choose Options.
- Choose Customize Ribbon. On the right side of the screen, you will see a list of items, most of which are selected. Put a check mark in the box to the left of Developer to add it.
- Go back to your presentation. Choose the Developer tab.
- Click on the wrench icon for more tools. Scroll down and select Shockwave Flash Object.
- This takes you back to your slide. Draw a box where you want to insert the video.
- Right-click the box. Choose Property Sheet.
- In your Web browser, navigate to the YouTube video you want to insert. Copy its URL.
- In the Property Sheet, locate the line for video. Paste the URL of the video in this box.
- In the URL, replace the = sign with a single forward slash: /
- Delete watch? from the URL.
- Close the Property Sheet box. If you are on a staff computer, you should now be able to use the Slideshow option to see the embedded video.
