Recover Unsaved Documents

If someone closed a document without saving it, but later needs it, use these steps in Word 2010 (and possibly the other Office products):

• File
• Info
• Manage Versions
• Recover Unsaved Documents

I just recovered a partial document a student had sent to the printer but couldn’t get retrieve. A caveat: this will only be if something was autosaved. I am not sure what the time limit is for autosaving on the student computers; we might check with ITS about it, and perhaps see about getting the student computers to have a lower autosave time period. Typically it’s something like 10 minutes. So the document I found cut off in the middle of a sentence since that was the last autosave.
